Trio Beat Then Swiped Man's Wallet On Long Island: Police
They approached him from behind and punched him in the head before throwing him to the ground at around midnight Monday, cops say.
NEW CASSEL, NY — A man was beaten and robbed of his wallet early Monday morning, Nassau police said.
The 49-year-old man was walking at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Siegel Street around midnight when three males not known to him approached from behind and punched him in the head before throwing him to the ground, according to police.
The trio swiped his wallet from his pants pocket and ran away in an unknown direction, police said, adding that he suffered from a contusion to his forehead and an abrasion to his left hand.

The suspects are described as males between 25 to 30 years old, police said.
The Third Squad is investigating, according to police.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800-244-TIPS, a confidential police hotline, or call 911.
