Westbury Supermarket Fire Deemed Suspicious, Officials Say

A fire that broke out in a Westbury supermarket on Saturday morning was deemed suspicious, according to fire officials.

The Westbury Fire Department responded to a fire in the Compare Price Supermarket, located at 640 Union Ave., to find a working fire with flames showing from the rear of the building at 3:45 a.m., officials say.

Firefighters entered the store and quickly knocked down the blaze.

The Bethpage, Hicksville, Jericho fire departments also responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported.
