Affordable Jamaica Apartments Hit NYC Housing Lottery
Two brand new units at 89-15138th St. are up for grabs on NYC Housing Connect. Find out if you qualify.

JAMAICA, QUEENS -- A housing lottery for a pair of brand new apartments in Jamaica launched on Monday, city records show.
The one- and two-bedroom apartments inside the two-story building at 89-15 138th Street are now available for monthly rates of $1,418 and $1,599, respectively, according to NYC Housing Connect. Applications are being accepted through July 17.
The one-bedroom apartment is available to one person making between $48,618 and $58,840 per year or a pair making up to $66,800 annually, the listing states.

Groups of two, three or four who rake in a combined yearly income between $54,823 and $83,440 are eligible to rent the two-bedroom apartment, city records state.

Photo via NYC Housing ConnectEach apartment in the smoke-free building boasts a balcony and are eligible for tax exemptions through the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development's 421a Tax Incentive program, according to the listing.

The building is also advertised within walking distance of J, Z and F subway stations and the following bus stations: Q6, Q8, Q9, Q20A, Q20B, Q24, Q30, Q31, Q40, Q41, Q43, Q44, Q54, Q56 and Q60/airtrain to JFK airport.
A small percent of the building's affordable units are set aside for applicants with mobile, vision and hearing disabilities. Queens Comunity Board 12 members and government employees will also receive preference for the apartments, according to the listing.
