Jamaica Rapist Pleads Guilty To Brutal Assault, Queens DA Says

George Persaud pleaded guilty Tuesday to raping a woman for several hours and trying to imprison her in her own car, prosecutors said.

JAMAICA, QUEENS — A man who raped a woman at gunpoint in a Jamaica gas station imprisoned her in her own car has pleaded guilty to rape and will serve more than 15 years in prison, prosecutors announced.

George Persaud, 24, pleaded guilty Tuesday to raping a 40-year-old woman he cornered on 93rd Street just before midnight on Dec. 29, the Queens District Attorney's office said.

“Don’t do anything stupid or I’ll kill you," Persaud told the terrified woman.

Persaud pulled the woman to a nearby gas station and sexually assaulted for for several hours, prosecutors said.

He even pretended to let her go, then followed her to her car, forced her into the back seat and raped her again, said prosecutors.

Persaud then climbed into the front seat and drove the car to an alley on 100th Street to urinate with the woman locked inside her own car, prosecutors said.

But the woman pulled a spare key out of her purse, jumped behind the wheel and sped away before Persaud could return, said prosecutors.

Persaud was arrested on Jan. 9 after police released photos of his "Only The Strong Survive" chest tattoo and matched his fingerprints to those found inside the woman's car, prosecutors said.

Persaud pleaded guilty to rape in Queens Supreme Court Tuesday, is slated to be sentenced on Oct. 3, and is expected to serve 17 years in prison with 15 years supervision to follow, said prosecutors.

Said acting Queens District Attorney John M. Ryan, “It is my hope that the victim of this vicious crime will gain some solace in knowing this defendant will be locked away for a long time."
