Springfield Boulevard Crash Leaves 1 Dead, 3 Injured

CAMBRIA HEIGHTS, QUEENS — A two-car collision in Cambria Heights on Sunday left one person dead and three injured.

St. Albans resident Darwin Evariste, 53, was turning right off 114th Road and onto Springfield Boulevard about 2:30 a.m. on June 2 when a woman driving a Jeep north on Springfield crashed into his BMW, police said.

First responders rushed Evariste to Franklin General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The 23-year-old woman who was driving the Jeep and two passengers — a 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman — suffered minor injuries. They went to North Shore Manhasset Hospital in stable condition, according to police.

There are no arrests. The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.
