SNOW TOTALS: More Than Two Feet of Snow Falls in Kings Park
Winter storm leaves area with some of the region's highest totals.
Smithtown residents on Saturday woke up to some of the highest snowfall totals in region, as a brutal blizzard that created white-out conditions much of Friday, left the area under more than two feet of snow.
Though no official totals for Kings Park have been reported yet by the National Weather Service, residents are reporting 27-31 inches of snow in the local area. St. James was hard hit with the National Weather Service reporting 27.5 inches of snow on the ground. Smithtown saw 25 inches of snow. However, the windy nature of the storm has left snow drifts that may tower over 3 feet.
Upton saw the most snow, at 30.3 inches, while Commack and Huntington both recorded around 29 inches of snow.

According to the weather service, the area will remain in a blizzard watch until noon, though the storm was clearly winding down across the region Saturday morning.
