2 Men Charged With Reckless ATV Driving, Fleeing Police: Cops
One of the ATVs that was operated "recklessly" was determined stolen by police.
LINDENHURST, NY — Two men were arrested on Sunday, after they recklessly rode ATVs — including one that was stolen — through multiple hamlets and fled from law enforcement, Suffolk County Police said.
At about 4:05 p.m., First Precinct police officers responded to a 911 call regarding a group of ATV operators riding recklessly on southbound Route 110, near Executive Blvd., in East Farmingdale
Officers attempted to pull over the vehicles, but the group fled southbound on Route 110, police said.

The men continued to ride recklessly through Amityville, Copiague and Lindenhurst before two vehicles stopped on Eastbound Sunrise Highway, near North Monroe Avenue, in Lindenhurst.
Kevin Gomez Cruz, 22, of Bay Shore, who was riding a 2024 Yamaha ATV, was charged with reckless driving and unlawful fleeing a police officer, police said.

Fernando Acuna Suazo, 19, of Copiague, was riding a 2022 Kawaski dirt bike that was determined to be stolen out of Massachusetts. He was charged with reckless driving, unlawful fleeing a police officer, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said.
Both men were issued multiple summonses for traffic violations, and the Yamaha ATV was seized.
Gomez Cruz, was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket.
Acuna Suazo was held overnight and scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday, police said.
