Lindy Blogger Offers Tips for a Healthy Home
Lindenhurst blogger Robert Deacon offers some tips for homeowners, especially those rebuilding after Sandy.
Lindenhurst business owner and Patch Blogger Robert Deacon recently posted tips for maintaining a healthy home - courtesy of the National Center of Healthy Housing (NCHH).
"Keep it Contaminant-Free. Reduce lead-related hazards in pre-1978 homes by fixing deteriorated paint, and keeping floors and window areas clean using a wet-cleaning approach. Test your home for radon, a naturally occurring dangerous gas that enters homes through soil, crawl spaces and foundation cracks. Install a radon removal system if levels above the EPA action-level are detected," wrote Deacon, who owns Vango Cleaning.
He goes on to list all seven tips.
