Suffolk Bicyclist Struck, Seriously Injured By Car: Police
The man was bicycling across his lane of traffic when he was struck by a car, police say.
COPIAGUE, NY — A 40-year-old man is seriously injured after he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle in Copiague on Monday night, Suffolk County police said.
The driver of a 2015 Hyundai Sonata was traveling westbound on Dixon Avenue at about 6:20 p.m., when it struck the Copiague bicyclist, police said.
The bicyclist was riding across his lane of traffic at the intersection of Volta Street at the time.

He was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries, police said. The driver of the Hyundai Sonata was not injured.
The Hyundai was impounded for a safety check.
