Cops: Firemen's Park Shooting Appears to Be Non-Criminal

A shooting at Firemen's Park on Tuesday evening appears not to be the result of criminal activity, according to Suffolk Police officials on the scene.

Reports of gun shots in the area near the basketball courts of the park prompted Suffolk Police to summon several police cruisers and detectives along with the Crime Scene Unit to investigate and cordon off the parking lot adjacent to the courts.

However, while police officials wouldn't comment on the scene which involved a silver SUV, they did say the shooting didn't appear to be criminal.

No other information about the incident was available at presstime.
