Couple Finds Two Tombstones at Venetian Shores
Police are asking anyone with information about the headstones that were discovered at the beach in Lindenhurst to call them, according to a published report.
A Huntington couple came across a pair of headstones on a walk along the Great South Bay in Lindenhurst.
According to a report on News12 Long Island/News12.com, Bobby and Susan Yonkes, of Huntington, found the headstones seemingly washed up on the beach at Venetian Shores.
The report said one headstone has the name Anna Starr inscribed on it, and she was described on the headstone as a beloved mother and devoted grandmother and apparently died in May 1972.

The other stone, the report said, simply says Lillian with no last name, only indicating she was born in 1901 and passed away in December 1973.
It's unclear where the headstones came from and how they ended up on the beach, the report said, Suffolk Police are asking anyone with information to call them.
