Driver Arrested After LI Crash Seriously Injures Motorcyclist
Police the driver of a car was driving while his ability was impaired by alcohol Thursday evening.
LINDENHURST, NY — A 24-year-old man was seriously injured when a car collided with his motorcycle in Lindenhurst Thursday evening. The car's driver was arrested, police said.
According to Suffolk police, 53-year-old John Ray was driving a 2013 Hyundai Sonata west on Montauk Highway and attempting to turn left onto South Walnut Street when he crashed into an eastbound 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Thomas Pendolino at 6:34 p.m.
Pendolino, of Lindenhurst, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Ray, of Copiague, was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol and will be arraigned at a later date.
