LHS Class of ’72 Reunion Set for October

One day you’re celebrating high school graduation, and seemingly the next, you’re marking the occasion four decades later.

That’s exactly what the Class of 1972 is doing this year - celebrating its 40th class reunion.

The Festivities
The Lindenhurst Class of 1972 will be marking this anniversary on , at the Firemen’s Memorial Park Pavilion in Lindenhurst, according to organizers Wendy Weckerle Swartz, Lorraine Tucci and Janet Hart.

“I’m really excited about this reunion,” said Weckerle Swartz. “I live in Tucson, Arizona, and for various reasons, I’ve never been able to attend my class reunions before. So helping to organize this one, and reconnecting with classmates on Facebook, Classmates.com and the Lindenhurst High School Alumni website has been a real pleasure, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing them again in October!”

“Hands down, we have the best class ever - always filled with so much class spirit - even after all these years! We’ve always had great attendance, and lots and lots of fun at all of our reunions” added Tucci and Hart, who’ve helped organize past reunions.

“This one will be no exception; we know this’ll be as successful as all the others!” they said with enthusiasm.

The festivities will commence at 7 p.m., and will include dinner, an open bar, live DJ, dancing, and perhaps a few surprises. The cost is $70 per person (which includes gratuities).

RSVP Deadline Approaching
The RSVP deadline for this reunion is Saturday, . Invitations could be obtained by sending e-mail to Bulldogs40th@aol.com. Or fellow LHS 1972 classmates could call Janet Hart at 516-528-0561 or Lorraine Tucci at 516-457-8081.

Fellow classmates may RSVP by sending a check payable to “Lindenhurst Class of 1972” for $70 per person, to Lindenhurst Class of 1972, PO Box 1576, Lindenhurst, NY 11757.

For the ladies, when sending in payment, please include your maiden name. For everyone else who’ll be taking a guest, please provide the name of your guest.

If you wish to receive a confirmation of your RSVP, then please include your e-mail address. E-mail confirmations will then be sent from Bulldogs40th@aol.com.

A Facebook group page, Lindenhurst High School Class of 1972, has been set up by classmate Lucrezia (Ilene) Herman, and it has current announcements about the reunion.

Memory Lane (formerly Classmates.com) has a posting about the reunion, as well as The Lindenhurst High School Alumni website.

“By joining these online groups, you could find out more about the reunion and who’s planning to attend. And they’re a great way to keep in touch,” added Weckerle Swartz.

Weckerle Swartz, Hart and Tucci are looking forward to seeing their classmates in October, and urge everyone interested in attending to submit their payment as soon as possible.
