Biz Beat: Lindenhurst Applebee's Offers Free Kids' Meals on Labor Day

To help strapped working parents, mac and cheese and chicken fingers are on the house.

Times are hard - and for many Lindenhurst families, eating out is an extravagance that doesnt' fit into a budget already stretched too thin.

To honor working parents, 22 Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar restaurants in Suffolk and Nassau Counties - including - will give them a break on Labor Day, offering free kids' meals.

Families who dine at on Labor Day - Monday, September 3 - for lunch or dinner will receive up to two free kids' meals with each adult entree purchased. The free meals are valid for children younger than 12 years old and on any Applebee’s "Kids’ Menu" selection - dine-in only.

“Not only that, but with every kids' meal ordered in our Long Island restaurants, we bring a healthful appetizer to the table,” said Marc Prince, vice president of operations for Applebee’s. “We serve carrots and celery with dressing as dip. It’s a fun way for kids to learn to eat healthier.”

On Labor Day, under the terms of the promotion, children can choose one free entree from a list of options including chicken tenders, mini cheeseburgers, grilled chicken sandwich, Kraft macaroni and cheese or a grilled cheese. The meal also includes a choice of side dish and soft drink or milk.

Parents can also save on Applebee's Pick 'N Pair lunches, which start at $5.99 and include choices such as seasonal berry and spinach salad and a new lemon shrimp fettucine.
