Lindenhurst Student and Teacher Nominated For Musical Performances

The pair were nominated for BroadwayWorld's Regional Awards.

LINDENHURST, NY — A Lindenhurst teacher and a Lindenhurst student were recently recognized for their artistic accomplishments.

Lindenhurst High School senior Heather Neumar and musical stage director and teacher Tyler Smalling recently received nominations for BroadwayWorld’s Regional Awards.

The nominations were for two summer productions they each participated in at a Lindenhurst theater called South Shore Theatre Experience.

Heather received a nomination for Best Actress in a Play for her role in a black box production of “Afflicted,” and Smalling received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Play for his role in a different black box production, “The Scarecrow and Mrs. Gale.”

Winners of the awards will be announced later this month.
