Mayor: 'Stay Inside, Stay Warm' as Roads Ice Up
Mayor Tom Brennan also says the Lindenhurst Village 'has a pretty good hold' on the plowing following the blizzard.
As the roads begin to ice up in the Village, Mayor Tom Brennan is advising residents to stay inside.
"The best bet tonight is to stay inside and stay warm," he told Lindenhurst Patch.
The Lindenhurst mayor was out in the Village inspecting streets late Saturday afternoon following the blizzard that hit overnight.

"We're going up and down all of the blocks," he said.
As for plowing, the mayor echoed what Ray Fais, emergency manager for the Village, said earlier today.

"We're out plowing, and we've got a pretty good hold on it," he said.
Fais had said the main roads were clear, and the Village Department of Public Works crews were out clearing the side streets on Saturday.
He also reiterated what Fais said, that there were no reports of downed trees or tree limbs.
"We had some pretty gusty winds, but nothing where we had to send crews out," Brennan said.
Resident with non-emergency, snow-related issues could call the DPW at 631-957-7520.
The mayor also said the Village had some "minor" coastal flooding, and with each high tide the water's been going down, so it's not as much of a concern now.
The weather is forecast to bring some higher temperatures as Lindy heads into Sunday, and rain and temperatures in the mid-40s are forecast for Monday.
But any rain that would come on Monday and wash away the more than a foot of snow the blizzard dumped on Lindy on Friday into Saturday also shouldn't be a problem for the Village.
"I really don't believe it should be a problem," the mayor said. "If everything was frozen for a while first, then it'd be a concern, but a lot of snow melted today."
