Post Office to Keep Saturday Mail Delivery
The USPS drops plans to halt Saturday mail delivery service.

Saturday mail will continue to arrive at the homes and businesses across Lindenhurst.
The United States Postal Service board of governors stated on Wednesday, April 10, they'll delay plans to cease mail delivery on Saturdays.
Congress has prohibited implementation of a new national delivery schedule for mail and packages, according to a statement released by the board.

In February the Postal Service announced that it would end regular mail delivery on Saturdays beginning in early August.
The move came as a cost-cutting measure, as the USPS hoped to save $2 billion annually by cutting Saturday delivery service. According to reports, the USPS lost almost $16 billion last year.

In July 2011 the Postal Service announced the closure of 3,600 post offices across the country in an effort to save money. In January it also increased stamp prices once again, from 45 cents to 46 cents, to mail one-ounce letters.
