Weather Forecast
A brisk fall chill will continue to hang around this week as the leaves continue to change colors with high temperatures staying in the low 50's throughout the week until Friday. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy days ahead, including Halloween with temperatures in the upper 50's for early evening trick-or-treating. Forecasts calling for a chance of rising temperatures in the mid 60's and showers as we head into next weekend.
Public Meetings
The Lindenhurst School District will hold a public workshop on the E.W. Bower School at the McKenna Building on October 30 at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
Halloween
Festivities ahead for the annual scariest night of the year are upon us as nice weather will stick around for trick-or-treating that evening. In Lindenhurst, we have one annual event we all know and love:
– Lindenhurst High School will host a "Safe Halloween" event on October 31 at 4 p.m. for all costumed children.
Sandy: One Year Later
Hurricane Sandy struck Long Island one year ago on October 29 and one local volunteer group will be holding a ceremony to mark the occasion. Adopt-A-House will hold a ceremony at Lindenhurst's Village Square Park at Hoffman Avenue and Wellwood Avenue on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The ceremony will include a video montage of the scenes over the past year and a few words from local leaders.
