Snowfall Totals in Lindy for Feb. 8 Blizzard

The February 8 blizzard left a ton of snow in its wake, burying cars, homes and everything else in its path here in Suffolk County, especially the farther East you went.

The National Weather Service has started putting together the list of final snow accumulations throughout the Northeast following the storm.

Lindenhurst was on the list for Suffolk County with 20.5 inches.

Ray Fais, emergency manager for the Village, put snow totals in the Village in the double digits.

"I'd say we received between 13 and 15 inches depending on where you are in the Village," he said.

Residents and readers also chimed in on Lindenhurst Patch's Facebook page here with snowfall amounts on Friday night into Saturday as and after snow fell:

• Donna Levasseur: "I guestimate about five to six inches so far."
• Lori Barish: "I'd say 8 to 10; just shoveled out a car."
• David M. Zito: "A foot, at least."
• Angela Vanleuvan Simpson: "About 10 here on Surf Street."
• Lorin Soto: "Maybe 14 or so...North Delaware Avenue."
• Ilene Meister: "Twelve or so, South Walnut Street."

In North Lindenhurst there seemed to be about a good foot and a half of snow.
