Annual Mile Swim Returns To Long Beach This Weekend

LONG BEACH, NY — A swim will take place this weekend in Long Beach to honor all of the deceased men and women who served on the Beach Patrol.

The 13th Annual Lifeguard Memorial Swim is on Sunday morning at the Riverside Boulevard beach.

All swimmers over the age of 14 who can swim one mile in 55 minutes or less, are invited to participate.

Pre-race entry fee is $35, which must be received by 4 p.m. on Friday. It costs $45 to enter on race day with registration starting at 7:45 a.m. The first 200 entrants will receive a t-shirt.

The one-mile swim is at 9 a.m., rain or shine.
