Candidates Forum, Latino Civic Gala Dinner on Tap

 Here's what's happening in Long Beach this week: 

• Candidates Forum: The League of Women Voters of Long Beach and the Long Beach Public Library present the Long Beach City Council Candidates’ Forum at 7 p.m. Thursday at the library, 111 W. Park Ave. A representative of the LWV-Nassau County will moderate the forum.
  
  
• Gala Dinner: Long Beach Latino Civic Association Gala Dinner at Bridgeview Yacht Club, 80 Waterfront Blvd. in Island Park, at 7 p.m. Thursday.
  
  
• Council Meets: The Long Beach City Council will hold a regular meeting at City Hall, 1 W. Chester St., at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
  

• Corporation Development Meeting: The City of Long Beach Local Development Corporation will hold a meeting on the sixth floor of City Hall at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
  

• Columbus Day: Columbus Day is Monday. Long Beach City Hall is closed.
