City Council Agenda for Sept 17: Bulkhead Program, Pump Station Rehab

The following is the City Council agenda for the meeting at City Hall, 1 W. Chester St., on Sept. 17. 

1. Resolution Granting Waiver of Off-Street Parking Requirements Re: Premises: 1030 West Beech Street (street floor), Long Beach, New York.

2. Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into an Agreement for Engineering Services in Conjunction with the Rehabilitation of the New York Avenue Pump Station.

Legislative Memo: The New York Avenue Pump Station, which is an integral part of the City’s sanitary sewer system, was flooded and severely damaged during Superstorm Sandy. Said engineering services will provide on-site inspection services and construction administration services during the rehabilitation. Funding is being requested though public assistance grant monies from FEMA.

3. Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into an Agreement for the Rehabilitation of the New York Avenue Pump Station.

Legislative Memo: The New York Avenue Pump Station, which is an integral part of the City’s sanitary sewer system, was flooded and severely damaged during Superstorm Sandy, requiring extensive repairs and rehabilitation Funding is being requested though public assistance grant monies from FEMA.

4. Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into an Agreement for Engineering Services Needed for the Preparation of Bulkheading Permitting and Contract Procedures.

Legislative Memo: This is the first step required in the establishment of the City’s Bulkheading Program, which offers residents the opportunity to have the City repair/replace their damaged bulkheading caused by Superstorm Sandy. The cost of the work will be financed by the City and residents can make payments over as many as 20 years.

5. Resolution Authorizing Publication of a Notice of Public Hearing of an Application to Waive the Off-Street Parking Requirements for Premises:
