Do Portable Stop Signs On Oceanview Offer Greater Safety?

Are you feeling safer during your travels on Oceanview?

The City of Long Beach has posted portable stop signs on West End streets that intersect with Oceanview, a road closed to through traffic that runs parallel to the beach just yards away. The signs stand more than four feet high and are positioned to provide greater visibility to motorist in addition to the existing stop signs at each corner.

Patch asks residents who regularly walk, run and cycle on Oceanview, known as the "boardwalk of the West End," if they find the portable stops signs provide greater safety. Let us know in the comments below.
