Film Festival, Civic Meetings On Tap This Week

- The Long Beach City Council will hold a regular meeting on the 6th floor of City Hall, at 1 W. Chester St., on Tuesday. The council’s Aug. 20 agenda can be found here.
- The North East Bay & Canal Civic Association will hold their inaugural public meeting at 7:45 p.m. at the Long Beach Library, at 111 W. Park Ave., on Wednesday.
- Long Beach International Film Festival "Shorts on the Beach Film Series" will kick off at National Boulevard beach at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
- The West End Neighbors Civic Association (WENCA) will hold a regular meeting at the Long Beach Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
- The Long Beach Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a regular meeting at City Hall at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Read the agenda here.
- The Long Beach Historical Society’s Arts and Crafts Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Riverside Boulevard boardwalk on Saturday.
