Film Festival, Zoning Board Meeting

Long Beach International Film Festival, Shorts on the Beach, will be held on the beach outside the Allegria Hotel, 80 W. Broadway at National Blvd., Thursday evening. Walk the red carpet on the new boardwalk starting at 7 p.m., Mike Krum and Joe Horowitz will perform live music at 7:30, and film screenings start at 8:30. The event is free and open to the public. Bring beach chairs and blankets. Here’s the full itinerary. Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and actor Gerald Tommaso DeLouise of "Rocky" fame will hold a press conference to open the festival at the hotel at 10:30 a.m.
The Long Beach Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a regular meeting at City Hall, 1 W. Chester St., at 7 p.m. Read the agenda.
