
- Here's what's going on in Long Beach this week:
- Irish Day: The Ancient Order of Hibernians will hold the annual Irish Day Parade & Festival in Long Beach on Saturday. The parade starts at Washington Boulevard and will eventually proceed west along West Beech Street in the West End starting at 11 a.m. Saturday.
- Sandy Support Group: A Hurricane Sandy Support Group is scheduled to meet on the second floor of Long Beach City Hall, at 1 W. Chester St., at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
- Caregiver Support: The Nassau County Office for the Aging is coordinating a support group that targeted to respond to the needs of caregivers of the elderly. The next meeting will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. on the second floor of the Long Beach Public Library, 101 West Park Ave. For information call (516) 227-8900.
- Veggie Cooking: Healthy Vegetarian Cooking with Dr. Rohini Ramanathan at the Long Beach Library at 12 p.m. Tuesday.
- Council Meeting: The Long Beach City Council will hold a regular meeting Tuesday at Long Beach City Hall.
- Westholme Movie Night: West Holme Movie Night will show “Finding Nemo” at Lafayette Boulevard beach at 6 p.m. Friday.
- Teen Night: The new Mermaid Art Studio, at 891B W. Beech St., will hold an inaugural Teen Night. More details here.
