Nearby: Gun Fired at Island Park Store

A gun was fired at an Island Park store Friday evening.

According to Nassau County Police Department, an unidentified suspect fired a gun at the front window of Ralph’s Bait and Tackle Shop, 4195 Austin Blvd. in Island Park, from an SUV traveling northbound on the boulevard at 9 p.m. Sept. 27.

A bullet penetrated the window and lodged in a bookshelf located against a wall at the rear of the shop, which was unoccupied at the time of the shooting, police said. Police have no further description of the vehicle.
