Long Island Africa American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. hosted it Annual Minority Enterprise Development Month (MED Month) event is Suffolk County at Lorraine Gregory Communications

Suffolk County, NY — The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (LIAACC), the largest African American Chamber of Commerce in New York State, announced today a renewed strategic effort to expand membership and business engagement throughout Suffolk County as part of its long-term vision to strengthen economic empowerment across Long Island.

As LIAACC continues to broaden its footprint, Suffolk County represents one of the most dynamic and diverse business corridors in the region—home to thousands of small businesses, emerging enterprises, professionals, and entrepreneurs. Through expanded outreach, targeted programming, and new partnerships, LIAACC aims to ensure that minority-owned businesses in Long Island have increased access to the chamber’s full suite of support services.

A Stronger Suffolk County Means a Stronger Long Island

“Expanding into Suffolk County is not just a geographic step—it is a commitment to local entrepreneurs who deserve access to opportunities, resources, and networks that fuel long-term growth,” said Phil Andrews, President of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. “Our chamber is building bridges that ensure every business owner—from Wyandanch to Patchogue, from Brentwood to Riverhead—has a seat at the table of economic empowerment.”

Why Suffolk County Businesses Should Join Now

Suffolk County’s growing minority population and expanding small-business sector make it a critical focal point for business development initiatives. With mounting opportunities in construction, healthcare, technology, real estate, professional services, retail, and the green-energy economy, LIAACC is positioning local entrepreneurs to leverage these growth sectors ahead of the region’s evolving economic landscape.

Currently, a grant is available for Suffolk County Business through Suffolk County the grant was provided with funds from through the American Rescue Act as part of Suffolk County Downtown Revitalization Program. The grant ends soon! The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce (LIAACC) works with Trellus Same-Day Local Delivery & Marketplace to distribute $125,000 in JumpSMART grant for small businesses in Suffolk County.

Known as the LIAACC Delivery Grant, the program aims to address unique challenges faced by minority-owned businesses competing against e-commerce giants, providing business owners with reliable, local delivery services. The grant amount to be distributed are in the amount of $2500.00 for marketing/delivery services.
