- Jerry Barmash previews Merrick's fall fair. This Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will be games, amusement rides, live entertainment, a magic show, a petting zoo and vendors in the Merrick LIRR parking lot. (Patch)

- A new Colombian restaurant has opened in Massapequa. Sabor A Colombia on Carmans Road, by the Sunrise Mall is the second Nassau county location for the owners, after a longtime Hicksville spot. (Subscription: Newsday)
- The Island Now recaps candidates Nassau County Executive Laura Curran and Town of Hempstead Councilman Bruce Blakeman's differing views on on reassessment and county finances in a recent Newsday event. - Last spring's acid attack on an Elmont woman remains unsolved and now the FBI is offering a $20K reward for any information. It happened on March 17 on Arlington Avenue. The suspect fled in a red 2013 to 2015 Nissan Altima with fog lights. (Daily Voice)
