Merrick Student Wins McCarthy Art Scholarship

Anthony Wong, a junior at Calhoun High School, was one of the winners of the art competition, An Artistic Discovery, which was sponsored by Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy. 

The winners were judged by faculty from Adelphi University. Wong was one of 33 students who was awarded a college scholarship if he decides to attend Adelphi, for his piece, "We Are The World."

“Long Island’s high schools have a remarkable amount of talent and potential in their art programs,” McCarthy said. “Congratulations to the winners."
