- Patch tells us that ten-digit dialing for 516 numbers starts today. Nassau County residents should change any pre-programmed numbers like emergency, security and medical saved numbers. The change is coming because a new three-digit number will be used nationwide to reach the National Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Crisis Line. (Patch)
- A new kitchen showroom store has opened in Levittown. Wren Kitchen is a U.K.-based chain and this is their first Long Island location. (Patch)
- A man was convicted for his role in a burglary ring that targeted homes in gated communities on the North Shore of Nassau. Brayan Castano, 33, of Elmhurst, Queens, was convicted on Friday for seven counts of burglary in the second degree, attempted burglary in the second degree, and possession of burglar’s tools. - The Daily Voice writes that a suspect is at large after an armed robbery at a Long Island Subway sandwich shop. A man entered the store at 1341 Jerusalem Ave. in North Merrick, just before 9 p.m. Friday. (Daily Voice)
