On Saturday January 17, 2026 at 7:00pm SAS Performing Arts Company, Inc., in conjunction with the LC Vaughn Sankofa Memorial Arts Fund, will present "Tichina Vaughn and Friends Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Day." We https://our.show/mlk2026 have assembled an array of artists who have collectively performed at some of the greatest opera houses around the world alongside the most talented emerging artists in the world of opera. Singers scheduled to perform with Tichina Vaughn include: Sopranos: Monica Camafreita, Lynnesha Crump, Melissa Joseph, Kimberly Lloyd, Indira Mahajan, and Kyaunnee Richardson. Mezzo Soprano Daveda Browne, Tenors: Chauncey Packer and Norman Shankle, Baritones: Phillip Bullock, Eric Greene, and Antonio Watts, and Bass-Baritone Virdell Williams. Composer Jerrell Gray and Mary Pinto will be at the Piano. The event will be on Saturday, January 17th at Christ and St. Stephen's Church, 120 W 69th St., from 7:00pm – 9:30pm.

The Program will feature a dynamic blend of celebrated Opera selections; expressive Art Songs; timeless pieces from The Great American Songbook, including Leonard Bernstein; and powerful Spirituals. This event honors MLK Day and aims to inspire community participation, reminding everyone of music's role in unity and reflection.
