Superintendent’s Conference Day in the Rocky Point School District was a day for administrators, educators and staff members to participate in mandated trainings, building faculty meetings and reflect on the values and principles they bring to their workday as they get ready to welcome their students back for the 2022-23 school year.

On Aug. 31, the district welcomed keynote speaker Jon Gordon, well-known author of several books, including “The Energy Bus,” “The Power of Positive Leadership and “Stay Positive.” He spoke to the educators and support staff about the benefits of positivity and how optimism encourages others to succeed.

Mr. Gordon’s down-to-earth and energetic approach to cultivating a positive mindset was met with enthusiasm from the district personnel. He encouraged them to live and breathe the core values of the district’s mission and to keep working to create a positive state of mind.
