MONTAUK, NY — In an outpouring of generosity and community spirit, two Montauk families teamed up to help the Montauk Fire Department with a new ride.

The Hildreth and Kansler Families of Montauk recently donated a new, fully equipped Chevy Tahoe to the fire department.

The vehicle, designated "9-3-81", is being used as a first responder vehicle for volunteer personnel to respond to a scene, and to provide medical assistance prior to an ambulance's arrival, fire department officials said.
