April Kicks Off With Rain, Snow In The Hudson Valley Forecast
A hazardous outlook has been issued for the mid-Hudson.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — April starts with showers, at the edge of severe storms in the Central United States that could even bring snow to the mid-Hudson Valley.
"A common ‘April Fools’ joke in weather forecasting is to toss out a forecast for snow. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on your point of view), this time the conversation about snow is not a joke," said Bill Potter at Hudson Valley Weather. "If the upper air pattern shifts properly over the next several days, we could be in position for some wet snow Wednesday into Thursday."
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous outlook for Dutchess and Ulster counties. A long duration storm is expected Tuesday night through Thursday with periods of rain and snow. Significant accumulating snowfall is increasingly likely over portions of the area, especially the high terrain, where a moderate to heavy snowfall is possible, the NWS said.

The lower Hudson Valley will see rain most of the week.
"The bulk of our weather event should pass by late Thursday morning but additional precipitation could linger well into Friday. It’s a wet week," Bruce Furbeck said on First Due Weather.
