Interim Schools Superintendent To Start Aug. 14 In Nanuet
Dr. Lisa Brady headed the Dobbs Ferry schools until her retirement.

NANUET, NY — Nanuet school board trustees have hired a former Superintendent, Dr. Lisa Brady, to serve as Interim Superintendent. Her start date will be Aug. 14.
Dr. Brady served as superintendent of the Dobbs Ferry school district for 11 years before her retirement. Prior to that, she served as the Superintendent at the Hunterdon Central Regional High School and the South Hunterdon Regional High School in New Jersey.
In June, the Board officially announced a search for an interim and appointed Deputy Superintendent Dr. Meredith Fox for a short time as Acting Superintendent of Schools.

Dr. Fox had indicated that she wished to remain in her current role as Deputy Superintendent, the trustees said in a letter to the community. In addition to supervising Pre-K-12 curriculum, instruction, and assessment, she handles Human Resources for all instructional staff.
Under New York State Education Law, a school district must have a Permanent, Acting or Interim Superintendent of Schools at all times.

During her tenure at Dobbs Ferry, Dr. Brady successfully led the accreditation process for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP) for grades 6-10 to connect with the District’s IB Diploma Program. She was selected as a presenter at the New York State School Boards Association Conference in 2012, the National School Boards Association Conference in 2014 and the BrightBytes Technology Symposium in 2013. She was also the recipient of the Lower Hudson Regional Information Center Pioneer Award in 2012 for Technology Innovation.
The Board believes Dr. Brady is not only highly qualified, but will promote the Nanuet culture that we strive for, the trustees said in a letter in July.
The Board will begin a search for a permanent superintendent in late fall with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2024.
