NANUET, NY — Independence Day is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on around Nanuet for 2023.

We gathered up fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in Rockland County so you can start planning now. The fun starts June 29!

Clarkstown: The town’s celebration of American independence — including fireworks — will be June 29 (Rain Date: June 30) at Felix Festa Middle School. From 7:15 - 7:45 p.m. the Rockland County Radio Control Club will hold a flying demonstration. The concert starts at 8 p.m., featuring rock 'n roll by "Kick Start Charlie." Fireworks will follow the music. Food will be available for purchase. There will be a shuttle bus from Germonds Park, 185 Germonds Road, from 6 until 10 p.m. There will be limited parking at Laurel Plains Elementary School and parking at BOCES and Jesse J. Kaplan School. FYI: there will be no access to Felix Festa Middle School from Laurel Plains — you must follow the roadway to the access gate at Jolen Drive.

Nyack: The village's annual fireworks show will take place after 9 p.m. July 4 at the village’s Memorial Park.

Pearl River: The annual Fireworks Show will be held on July 4th at the Central Avenue Field in Pearl River and starts at about 9:20 p.m. There will be live musical entertainment by Adam and The Newhearts starting at 7 p.m.

Pomona: The New York Boulders’ traditional fireworks celebration will take place July 3 and 4 after the game at Clover Stadium, as the team has a three-day home stand against Ottawa. Off Exit 12 on the Palisades Interstate Parkway. For more information call 845-364-0009 or see NYBoulders.com.

Stony Point Battlefield Historic Site: The July 15-16, 1779 Storming of Stony Point by American General Anthony Wayne and the Continental Corps of Light Infantry, a daring midnight assault on the British fortifications by bayonet point, surprised the British and seized the fort. Open Wednesday-Sunday.
