Pedestrian Killed On Route 59 Wednesday Evening
The Spring Valley man was walking north on the southbound side, Ramapo police said.
HILLBURN, NY — A Spring Valley man who was walking on the side of Route 59 at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday was hit by a pickup truck and killed, Ramapo police said.
The crash took place near 4th Street in Hillburn.
The 52-year-old was apparently heading north on the southbound side, police said. He was struck by a 2023 Honda Ridgeline. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by Spring Hill Ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the Crash Investigation Team, police said.
Part of Route 59 from the Suffern border to the 4th Street Bridge in Hillburn was closed for nearly six hours.
