Pet of the Week: Storm

Storm was surrendered to Hi Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona, NY in early May along with a male dog named Tyson. The owner simply no longer wanted them. It was obvious that Storm had been used for breeding multiple times.

As staff went to leash her, we noticed immediately her clawing at her mouth and face. Upon visual exam, we found her teeth to be in horrible condition. After an initial vet exam (Storm was a rock star at the vet) it was recommended she have multiple extractions done to relieve her pain.

Storm had an extensive dental procedure done and she is now back at the shelter resting.

After all this dog has been through it is amazing she still is the sweetest most gentle dog! She just wants to snuggle, and presses her head against her pen in hopes of affection as you approach. Due to the fact she was bred multiple times, she may need to be the only dog in the home, however, we welcome meet and greets always, and are always willing to introduce your current dog.
