​Rockland County Executive Attends Eagle Scout Court of Honor, Ceremony

Jared Sidney's project benefited the Hudson Valley Humane Society in Pomona. He led a team of 35 volunteers and raised $2,629 in donations.​

From the Office of the County Executive: Rockland County Executive Ed Day attended the Eagle Scout Court of honor and Ceremony for Montebello resident Jared Sidney Simon on March 26 at Beth Haverim Shir Shalom in Mahwah, N.J.

Jared's project benefited the Hudson Valley Humane Society in Pomona. He built and installed three doggy decks to provide rescue dogs with a comfortable, dry place to rest. Jared led a team of 35 volunteers who worked on the project and raised $2,629 in donations.

Day also congratulated Jared's parents, Dr. Jordan Simon and Julie Simon."Too often we blame parents when something goes wrong," he told them. "It's a pleasure to give parents credit when their child grows into a wonderful person."Jared is a senior at Suffern High School. He is the 143rd member of Troop 21 in Suffern to become an Eagle Scout since the troop was chartered in 1924.
