Actor Michael Rapaport Says He'll Run For Mayor In 2029, Wants To Oust Mamdani

The actor made the comments in a video posted to Instagram.

NEW YORK CITY — Actor Michael Rapaport says he plans to challenge Mayor Zohran Mamdani in the next mayoral race in 2029.

The actor in a video posted to Instagram on Monday made his intention known to his followers.

“I, Michael Rapaport, will be running for mayor of New York City in 2029," he said. "You got ‘Zohran the moron’ now. But have no fear, Mayor Rapaport will be here.

Rapaport did not go into specifics on a potential campaign platform but said he will be "running my campaign on the fact that nothing will be free.”

The former "Friends" actor has been critical of Mamdani — in particular on his current stance on Israel.

It doesn't appear Rapport has filed paperwork yet to run for office in 2029.

“I will do my best to make New York City affordable, but you will be getting nothing for free,” he added. “I’m not gonna lie to you. I’m not gonna bulls‑‑‑ you."

Mamdani took office after winning the November general election on Jan. 1.
