LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — Looking for something to do? Whether you're ready to enjoy the nice weather or are looking to stay out of the sun, here are the most interesting things for you to do in Manhattan this weekend.


Fuerza Fest

When: May 8-20

What: FuerzaFest is an annual festival to celebrate LGBTQ+ Latino arts. It was first organized in 2016 "to create a space for dialogue and awareness of the systemic barriers and threats faced by the Latinx communities," according to the website's description. This weekend's schedule includes theater, art exhibits, dance performances and films.

When: Saturday starting at 7 a.m.

What: The British royal family will officially get a new member May 19 when Prince Harry marries the American actress Meghan Markle. If you can't make it across the pond to catch the royal wedding in person, New York City has you covered. There are plenty of events for royal die-hards eager to watch the ceremony and live it up like princes and princesses.


Dance Parade New York

Where: Parade starts at West 21st Street and Broadway

When: Saturday from 1-4 p.m.

What: Check out some of New York City's best dancers Saturday at lower Manhattan's annual Dance Parade. The event features live music, djs and performances of more than 80 unique styles of dance. The parade begins at West 21st Street and Broadway and continues down to Avenue A near East 10th Street.


AIDS Walk New York:

Where: Central Park near 72nd Street (Terrace Drive)

When: Sunday around 9 a.m.

What: Tens of thousands of people are expected to descend on Central Park on Saturday, May 20, to raise millions for the Gay Men's Health Crisis and other tri-state AIDS service organizations for this year's AIDS Walk New York. This year's opening ceremony in Central Park will feature a lineup of celebrities including "Queer Eye" stars Antoni Porowski and Tan France, Broadway' Michael Urie and Andrew Rannells and actors Matt Bomer, Rosie Perez and Zachary Quinto.
