Massive Pillow Fight

When: Saturday, April 6 at 3 p.m.

Where: Washington Square Park

What: Want to hit complete strangers without hurting them? A massive pillow fight will break out in Washington Square Park on Saturday afternoon. The event is being sponsored by Mattress Firm, who will be handing out pillows for a $5 charity donation.

Tartan Day Parade

When: Saturday, April 7 from 2-4 p.m.

Where: Sixth Avenue from West 44th to West 55th streets.

What: It's the time of year to show Scottish pride. April 6 was declared National Tartan Day in 1998 to celebrate the contributions of Scottish-Americans. This year's Tartan Day Parade will be held on Sixth Avenue on Saturday, April 6. If you love bagpipes, this is the weekend event for you.


Macy's Flower Show

When: March 25-April 8

Where: Macy's Herald Square (151 W. 34th St.)

What: Ring in the coming of Spring with Macy's annual flower show at its Herald Square flagship store. Yes, this event could be described as "touristy," but it also could be described as "beautiful." So stop being a grouch and go see some flowers.


New York International Auto Show

When: Until Sunday, April 8.

Where: Javits Convention Center on West 34th Street and 11th Avenue.

What: This year's New York International Auto Show will feature nearly 1,000 cars and trucks on display from the world's most well-known and prestigious auto makers. The convention will be leaving New York City after the weekend, so check it out while you still have time. Read more here.
