These Are The Best Pizza Places In NYC, Food Website Says

NEW YORK CITY — Chalk one up for New York City in the great pizza wars: 28 pizzerias in the five boroughs made The Daily Meal's list of the 101 Best Pizzas in America for 2017. Manhattan and Brooklyn dominated with 11 spots each.

Manhattan took the city's top spot, though — the food and dining website ranked the pies-only Greenwich Village landmark John's of Bleecker Street as the second best joint in the country.

"Yes, John's of Bleecker is on the tourist rotation, but there's a reason it’s become a New York City institution," The Daily Meal wrote.

The Big Apple had more than twice as many pizza restaurants on the list as red-sauce rival Chicago, which had just 12. The number one crown was taken by Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana in New Haven, Connecticut.
