Man Dies After Falling Between Q Train And BK Subway Platform: Report
MTA officials contradicted earlier NYPD statements that Marcus Bryant, 37, died early Thursday after being stuck and dragged by his clothes.

NEW YORK CITY — A man fell to his death between a Q train and a Brooklyn subway platform, according to reports that contradicted an earlier account by NYPD officials.
Police had said Marcus Bryant, 37, died after his pants were caught in a train door late Wednesday and he was dragged across the subway platform at Midwood’s Avenue M station.
But MTA officials Thursday afternoon gave a vastly different account, according to a New York Times report.

Instead, they said Bryant had somehow fallen between the train and the platform when he exited the car, according to the report.
MTA officials do not believe it was a door incident, and NYPD officials deferred to the transit agency’s assessment, the report states.

However the incident unfolded, Bryant apparently suffered fatal injuries, and doctors pronounced him dead about 1 a.m. Thursday, police said.
