Man Shot Outside Dior Amid July 4 Wave Of Violence: NYPD, Reports

A 27-year-old man who was shot in a SoHo drive-by Monday is among more than a dozen New Yorkers hurt in gun violence, according to a report.

NEW YORK CITY — A citywide wave of gun violence July 4 left at least 13 people injured, including man shot in a drive-by outside a Dior boutique in SoHo, police and reports say.

The SoHo shooter remained on the loose as of Tuesday morning, NYPD officials said, as the city grappled with the aftermath of a deadly holiday weekend.

A 27-year-old man was sitting in a vehicle outside the Greene Street boutique about 5 p.m. when someone in white sedan driving past fired a gun in his direction, hitting him in the arm, authorities said.

The man’s girlfriend — who is a civilian NYPD employee — drove him to a nearby hospital while onlookers and tourists gawked at the shooting scene, according to a New York Post report.

Hours later, as fireworks crackled over the city, back-to-back shootings in The Bronx and Brooklyn claimed the lives of three New Yorkers.

The first unfolded at 10:26 p.m. when police responded to a call about a man shot in front of 2431 Prospect Ave., near East 187th Street in The Bronx, authorities said.

They found John Edwards, 62, fatally shot, police said. Two other men, ages 23 and 26, were hospitalized with gunshot wounds, authorities said.

About an hour later, two men — ages 21 and 23 — were fatally shot in an East New York deli on Loring Avenue, between Forbell and Drew streets, police said.

Officers took a man into custody after the shooting, but no charges had been filed as of Tuesday morning, authorities said.
