Man Sleeping On Coney Island Beach Struck, Killed By Parks Truck: NYPD
A 47-year-old man died early Monday after a Parks Department employee ran him over with a truck, police said.
NEW YORK CITY — A man sleeping on Coney Island's beach died after a parks department employee ran him over with a truck, police said.
Medics pronounced the 47-year-old man deceased on the beach early Monday near the famed boardwalk and Stillwell Avenue, NYPD officials said.
The incident is still under investigation, but it appears it unfolded as a parks department employee conducted regular beach cleaning about 2:48 a.m., authorities said.

The parks worker drove a Ford truck toward an exit off the beach when he struck the man, who appeared to be sleeping, police said. The worker stayed at the scene and wasn't arrested, authorities said.
