NYC Easter Weekend Forecast: Sunny Days Ahead

NEW YORK, NY — It's been quite the month for New York City. After a March that brought New Yorkers four major winter storms (one on the first day of spring), mother nature will reward city dwellers with a pleasant Easter weekend to cap off the month, according to weather forecasts from the National Weather Service.

The Nation Weather Service forecast predicts some spring showers to hit the city Friday, but once those pass a sunny weekend should be in the works for New York. So dust off those Easter Bonnets, sundresses and multicolored eggs and get ready to spend the weekend outdoors.

High temperatures this weekend will fall in the mid 50s with lows dropping into the 40s and high 30s at night, according to the National Weather Service forecast. The New Yorkers lucky to have the Monday after Easter off should take advantage of a high of 48 and blue skies.

Friday:

Showers, mainly before noon. Steady temperature around 56. Southwest wind 6 to 9 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Friday night:

Showers likely, mainly before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 38. Northwest wind 11 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Saturday:

Sunny, with a high near 57. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday Night:

Increasing clouds, with a low around 42. South wind around 14 mph.

Sunday:

Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 53. West wind 11 to 14 mph.

Sunday Night:

Partly cloudy, with a low around 36.

Monday:

Mostly sunny, with a high near 48.
