NYC Subway Delays: Safety Equipment Stalls 1, 2, 3 Lines

Trains were brought to a halt after the equipment was activated between Times Square and Christopher Street.

NEW YORK, NY — Trains on three busy subway lines were brought to a halt Wednesday morning after safety equipment was activated, according to the MTA.

The equipment was activated between the Times Square and Christopher Street stations on the 1, 2 and 3 line sometime around 10:30, the MTA said. As a precaution, trains on those lines were stopped, according to the transit agency.

It's unclear why the safety equipment was activated.
