NEW YORK CITY — Straphangers heading back to work after the July 4 holiday weekend likely had a slow start to their days.

The issue prompted cries to run southbound A/C trains on the F lines from West Fourth Street to Jay Street, with A trains headed south making local stops from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to West Fourth-Washington Square.

“You may experience a longer wait for southbound EF trains as they share tracks with the rerouted trains,” the MTA posted.
